Public Safety Writers Association Writers Conference
Probably the PSWA conference was the most fun of any conference I've ever been to. Mind you, I always have a good time at conferences and cons. It's an opportunity to see writing friends and fans I haven't seen for a while and catch up on their news--and a time to make new friends. What was different about the PSWA conference is there were less than twenty people there. Others might think it was a disaster--but believe me, it made for an intimate gathering. The presentations were exceptional and because the audience was small, people had an opportunity to ask questions. We were graced with the presence of the Clark County Coroner, Mike Murphy, who gave an outstanding talk. Everyone who presented was knowledgeable sharing their expertise on everything from querying a law enforcment magazine, promotion, electronic publishing, working with editors, what a publishing house is looking for, importance of research, and much, much more.
